Configure a spot and condition thresholds once. SmartSurf checks for changes and surfaces supported alerts through the available channels.
Set a Watchdog.
Choose wind or wave ranges and a minimum duration. Watchdogs monitor configured conditions and can notify you through supported in-app or email alerts.
Keep positions visible.
Use a linked Android phone or dedicated Tracker to report a position. Pair rider and board devices to receive a separation alert when fresh fixes meet your rule.
Evidence has limits. Position updates need a powered device, GPS and connectivity. SmartSurf shows the latest reported fix; a delayed or missing update cannot confirm anyone’s status.
A conversation as well as a position
Reach the rider from the web.
Open Companion controls for a linked phone. Send a custom message or place a two-way voice call; the person on the phone can answer or decline.
Talk and listen.
Accepted calls support a conversation in both directions, with microphone, sound and hang-up controls. Both sides need a connection and microphone permissions.
Keep the group together.
Compatible group intercom supports instructor-controlled speaking turns. Group messages give authorized participants a shared update.
Ask through Companion.
Compatible builds include voice Copilot for supported questions and app actions. Available commands and audio behavior depend on your version, permissions and headset.
Set up before you set out. Link the phone, confirm a fresh position, and check the communication features you plan to use. Background location depends on Android permissions and battery settings; voice needs a compatible build, audio setup and connectivity.
